Warehouse Operator / Driver

The job of the Warehouse Operator is to perform day-to-day work independently, while maintaining warehouse required inventory levels; ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct; verifying stock and identifying losses; maintain an organized warehouse layout; loads and unloads freight; maintains records and manage all returns.· Responsible for the upkeep of Company shop vans and trucks.
- Maintains Company parts, equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition
- Pick up and deliver parts and tools to various work sites
- Haul all waste materials to dump as required
- Loads and unloads deliveries for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for the Construction or Service Department
- Distributes packages received for ordering Department
- Operates warehouse equipment (e.g. forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.) for the purpose of moving large and heavy items safely and effectively
- Receives stock and non-stock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct
- Ensure that all warehouse areas are kept clean and free of any safety hazards
- Provides a high quality cleaning service that includes tasks such as emptying bins, mopping, and performing landscape duties as assigned
- Research discrepancies on orders and/or packing slips for the purpose of correcting errors and/or returning damaged/incorrect items to vendors
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Service Manager
Job Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to perform multiple and, on occasions technical tasks
- 2-5 years working in a warehouse with forklift experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Current DOT medical card or ability to get one
- Experience and/ or knowledge of HVAC/R equipment strongly recommended
- Ability to safely operate vehicles equipped with manual and automatic transmission
- Work independently without direct supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read and understand instructions in safety and or policy manuals
- Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with a diverse population
- Ability to use Microsoft suite (word, excel, email) and the internet.
